Ooty :The Queen of hills is a hill station in the state of Tamilnadu in South india. It is one of those place where we all would love to go at least once in our life time.Long back in 2010 i also went there along with some of my friends. It was an unexpected fun-filled journey with lots of excitement on reaching to our favourite destination. Now iam recollecting all those beautiful memories to present it in front of you.

We took a full night travel and reach there early morning and we checked into our hotel which is a beautiful homestay property.74149a5b3bbe58f88a7785c83dd6f9a7

The Lake View Hotel An Resorts…..Words will be less when i am describing the beauty of this property. An entirely different one from the normal concept of hotels.Small small cottage kind of rooms. Both single and double rooms are available.Beautiful balconys, courtyard full of greenaries. The whole landscape is amazing.Nice walk areas around the cottages,Swings,View towards some of the parts of town and so much more.A highly recommended place to stay when in ooty. It’s little expensive but the money will be worth it.The location is at West Lake road ooty.

After the checking procedures we get to our room, freshen up,had our breakfast and head out to explore the whole town.We went straight to Ooty Lake also known as Ooty Boat House which is only 4 minutes  drive from our hotel. It is at north lake road.cc51f94b35e1160c91f7887b0e0d2e3a

This is one of the major tourist attraction of ooty. It’s an artificial lake which covers an area of 65 acres.Entry fee is Rs 10 per person and extra charges will be there for still cameras. Both pedal boats and motor boats are available. We took both to enjoy the beauty of the lake. The lake is surrounded by groves of eucalyptus trees and also a railway line can be seen running along one shore.Boat house also have a garden a mini train and an amusement park along with lots of small shops with items like fancy things, hats, eucalyptus oil and food stuffs like charcoal corn, pop corn, ice cream, cotton candy etc….Altogether we enjoyed a lot of shopping, fun activities including boat and train ride, took many pictures, snack time and much more under one roof..Finally we did a pony ride from outside….I guess it closes around 6 PM….

After that it’s almost afternoon so we went to a nearby hotel and had some delicious Uthappams which is an authentic South indian dish. Then it starts raining so we went back to our rooms, just chilled, watched TV, ordered food from outside and enjoyed our time in ooty very well….The weather here in ooty is always mild and pleasing throughout the year. When iam there i couldn’t see any A.C or fan or anything like that because this place is always cool….After that when the raining stops a bit we walked outside our rooms enjoyed the climate, had some amazing swing time by looking towards the hill view of ooty. That’s all done for the day…..

Next morning had some idlis an sambar for breakfast to kick-start our day. After having those we head towards the Botanical Garden in vannarapettai.f3b7c4929994e45b406194e1bf925296

It’s a huge government property of 55 hectares which has turned into this beautiful garden with having around thousands of species both exotic and indigenous of trees, plants, shrubs, herbs etc….In the center we can see a fossilized tree trunk which is estimated to be 20 million years old.Several sections are there which has beds of flowers, ponds with lilies and variety of medicinal plants, nurseries etc….Thousands of tourists are visiting here per day.It was fully crowded when we go there. We find so difficult to take pictures but still this place has its own uniqueness and is really a place which gives a visual treat for our eyes. It’s a must visit place in ooty.

After the garden our next stop is at the Doddabetta Peak   which is the highest mountain in ooty and the fourth highest in south india. This place is also known as the suicide point of ooty.6bd29fb3f902856387e5db6ebe42a128

reserved forest area is there around this peak. After parking we all walked towards the center of the area where you can find a telescope house which has an observatory desk. It’s a beautiful place fully crowded with tourists.Different sections of small walk-through are there to see the place. The view from here is insane.the whole Nilgiri district can be seen from here.I just love the view and i couldn’t get my eyes off from it.This place is so soothing and relaxing for the whole body an soul.from there the whole city seems to be like matchboxes. We enjoyed the place its weather, the beauty of nature a lot from there. It’s already afternoon then, also we want to return back that night itself. So we left from there and head towards our final destination that is –The Ooty Shooting Point.shooting-point

It’s a beautiful hill slope in Tamilnadu, which has the speciality of cool golden sunlight afternoons. It look like some place that has come alive from dreams. That itself is the main reason behind shooting for different films from this place. It’s the best place for photo fanatics, wanderers  and nature lovers. It also has a lake along side the route leading to the main view point. It’s open on all days and has no entry fee.Among the other places ,this place i loved a lot as it’s not at all crowded. When we went there ,we are the only one thre.So we enjoyed each an every minute spend there. We walked a lot, Sit and relaxed for hours and took beautiful pictures as much as we can.We were actually confused on which side to pose as the background is that much amazing. It’s so sad to leave that place but any how we have to go.I felt so heartbreaking when i am saying goodbye to ooty.bt still iam so thankful to god that at least i had gone there and could see such wonderful creations of nature. It always give me much pleasure when rewinding those days.there are many other places too which we missed to go,Also i never imagined of writing my ooty memories somewhere but through my blog  i made it.Nothing more to say….Once again wishing to go there.Love you ooty- you are incredibly amazing……
